Water is circulated from a reservoir over the inner surface of the stainless steel tube. Ice is formed by a refrigerant being applied to the outside of the tube. When your desired thickness is achieved, a hot gas will be introduced, which releases the ice. This drops into a rotating blade, which cuts your ice and discharges into a storage container for use.
In the low side freezer the ice is frozen automatically in the vertical stainless steel tubes. The refrigerant is circulated in the freezer through an accumulator located by the side of top tank. The hot gas is then passed around the tubes to release the ice downwards by gravity which is cut by a specially designed cutter in pre-determined size of 16, 25 or 36 mm. All surfaces having contact with water or ice are made of stainless steel or other rust resistance materials.
